The Importance of Anchor Text in Backlinks
Before starting about the importance of anchor text backlink. Let me tell you what a backlink exactly is. Backlinks are links from another website to your website. Google uses the number of backlinks as a sign of authority. All things being equal, one website with more backlinks then another website of a similar topic will rank higher. Now, what is the anchor text in backlinks?
Links from pages on your site, to pages on your site matters. The text used in those links matters. Anchor text is the clickable text in a link. It’s often blue in colour and underlined. Like this link here. Anchor text decides what your website is going to be associated with. For example, content is written about Italian food then at the end our backlink for your webpage which has recipes of Italian food.
Now there are many ways how you add a link to it. Suppose you write “click here” as an anchor text then your website will be associated with it Google will consider it as click here. Instead of having an anchor attack linked to “Italian recipes” it will give a better look and Google will I also associate your website with Italian recipes instead of click here. So basically anchor text plays a very important role in your ranking on a search engine as it gives a proper idea what your website is all about. So always use proper anchor text for your backlink as it counts.
